A yahoo group that I am a member of sent out this link to help with people that are having money problems... which right now, who ain't? So I thought I would pass the link on to you guys!!

Angle Food Ministries

There is a place where you can check and see if there is church in your area that offers this. Its NOT just for church members.... it IS for everyone.

I have a friend with a deadbeat future ex-husband and two young children who was able to survive for a couple of months by getting food through this organization. She said it was a good experience, and the people were very nice to her.

While I looked and we do have this in our area, our church isn't involved and it isn't advertised or anything. I am thinking I would like to talk to our priest and get our church involved and maybe advertise in Social Services and places like that. This is a great program! A great volunteer opportunity too!
Thanks Char!

A woman I work with advertises this program thru her church. She's gotten alot of people from my job involved in it.
Its a great program, open to anyone who has the $25, my question is......Should anyone be allowed this opportunity? OR just the needy folks?

Considering that most of the people that would jump at getting enough food to feed a family for a few weeks a month for 25.00 would be needy. Also there are no limits on how many orders a church can have. From what I understand they are able to get the food as cheap as they do because they are able to buy in bulk. So I would think the more people that take advantage of this program the longer the program will be able to sustain. Ive been through the process and I can't think of many people that aren't "needy" that would bring their own box/basket wait for the church to set up the lines and then go through a line and collect their food. I absolutely have enjoyed the food that they have on their menus. Since it is only my husband and I we only order every other month since the food is a lot.
