Well, now that I'm Comcastic, I have health insurance! Blue Cross/Blue Shield, baby!!! However, I need a doctor. Does anyone have anyone good in Nashville? Someone who is smart, who will not just gloss over every health problem with "Lose weight" "But doctor, I really think this gash needs stitches!" I don't want someone who will pretend that weighing over 400 pounds is good, but someone who will not ignore everything else because of the weight either. I could also use the name of a good gynecologist who is comfortable working with very fat bodies. I'm also ISO a wonderful podiatrist. All suggestions appreciated!

I can HIGHLY recommend 2 of the 3 you are looking for. First, the BEST EVER gynecologist in Nashville is Dr. Larry Gurley at Baptist. This man saved my life many years ago and now not only do all the female members of my family see him, but about half of the females I work with see him as well. There hasn't been a one of them who didn't think he was just the very best.

I have researched and seen about all the podiatrists in Nashville as well because of the problems I have with my feet due to having diabetes. The best one I've seen so far is Dr. Cohen in Lavergne - his office is across the street from Stonesriver Hopsital. I know he also has a couple other offices in the Nashville area, but I don't know exactly where they are.

I can't help much with the family doctor as I am also trying to find a new one for myself. If you come across someone who you think is good please let me know.

Good luck with your search ..... finding good medical care isn't always easy, but if you try the two I suggested above I think you'll be more than pleased.

Becca, thanks. I'll give both of those doctors a try. I'll have insurance in a month. Still, does anyone else have any ideas for a good GP/internist?
