LMAO I loved the chick in the green dress! "It doesn't look that big!", she says. I hear that crap all the time, "What size do you wear?", and when I respond, "Eh, anywhere from a 3X to a 5X depending on brand, cloth used, and if I'm fat that day", I get the "ZOMG! YOU DON'T LOOK THAT BIG!"....Bullshit bitch I do too, quit projecting your acceptance issues on me. Anyway, nice find Amy, thanks for sharing.

Let me correct you there. In MOST cases it's not your thyroid. There are certain cases where it is. Thus why they do tests for that.

I get so tired of people like you spewing forth this dribble like you're some kind of medical expert.

Every person is different.

And I'm not saying that every large person out there has a thyroid problem. 99% don't. But unless you have earned a medical degree and have seen test results yourself, please don't present yourself as one who has.

I kind of have to agree with Bugger. Its not your thyroid. And as Big Gunn stated in 99% of cases its not the thyroid.....so big deal. I'm a fat chick, and I love me some cookies and reese peanut butter cups, and m&m's, and cheese and all sorts of good poop. So yeah, I am what I eat. I'm also a smart, talented, caring, giving (among other things) PERSON.

The point of the article isn't about how you got fat...Its about acceptance. Isn't it? The method of getting fat wasn't the point. Its all about "okay your fat, now what". Over the past few years, I've been developing the attitude that I need to love myself FIRST. After that, whatever happens will happen. Ya dig??

Its funny to me that as fat people, we think we're not worthy of affection, and attention, and acceptance, JUST BECAUSE we're fat. We have found a place here, and there are other true size acceptance sites that affirm that YES we are worthy. We are worthy of the things we want. Being fat isn't a disability, its a hinderence. If its keeping you from doing what you truly wanna do, then shame shame shame. Find your place in this universe and LIVE!!!!

I agree susan... it's just the tone that people imply it with that gets so irritating. A member of my family DOES have thyroid issues and it makes her feel like poop every time someone tells her to just quit eating so much. She's a damn vegetarian for pete's sake.

She probably doesn't want to be rude, but perhaps she should look them square in the eye and ask them why the numbers on her scale are of such importance to them - and why they feel they have the RIGHT to say such personal and rude things to her. Thats utter Bull.shi.t!!! She needs to stand up for herself and put those people in their places!!

As my Dr told me, when you take your thyroid medicine and your counts are level, you are just like anyone else out there walking around. Your body should level to the correct weight for you.

thats probably one of the best videos i've ever seen...i can relate to it too in so many ways..i use to hide out in my house and not go to crowded places but i finally woke up to reality and faced the fact that i am what i am and i'm ok with it..its the others thats not and i don't live my life to please them,i live it to make ME happy and i love food and i also eat when i shouldn't but so what,it doesn't make me a bad person because i like to eat or that i'm fat..my heart is the same regardless..i weghed 110 when i got married 35 yrs. ago and i was the same person then as i am now except now i'm more aware of this society and how some treat others..i'm like Joy,who gives anyone the right to judge someone else because their fat..if its not your preference then so be it but noone has the right to say mean things or be cruel in any way to anyone just because you think their lazy,or just eat because they can..its like the man having a baby theory,i use to say if just 1 man could have a baby then he'd know what we go through and how hard it is to carry a baby for 9 months,ok,so it was done or so it seems anyway.lol..all the little tiny people make fun of us and whos to say that they themselves wont someday be in our shoes and then the tables will turn and who do you think is gonna be crying then?...i accept people for who they are.not who they could be and if someone thinks i'm a good person now and likes me as i am BUT thinks i could be so much of a better person thin,well,let me tell you this,,,,,i could lose down to 110 again but thats not gonna make me any better of a person than i am right now and its surely not gonna make a man love me anymore than he could right now and if he did,then i don't need nor want him..i'm fat and i'm happy with who i am and to anyone that thinks fat is gross or whatever then simply move on and go find you that little barbie figure and see how well she treats you because the size of a person isn't what makes them who they are,its their heart and i have seen some that have the personality of a snake but look dynamic outside,well to me that makes them ugly inside and out..i'm through ranting now.lol..
