I have a friend who is on Yasmin and is having some pretty severe side effects as far as mood swings and such. It's gone so far that she's had to take Xanax to calm herself down.
Can any of you recommend a brand of birth control that you've had a truly positive experience with?

Love Love Love my Ortho-Tri-Cyclene. Periods are 1 to 3 days and are extremely predictable. No mood probs or anything. Really helped with my mood swings and cramps.

A lot of this depends on a combination of variables... She really needs to talk to her doctor about the side effects and if her current doctor won't listen... time for new one. Hit me up on yahoo.

My high school daughter was on Yasmin..cried for 3 weeks..caled the Dr and she said that she should remain on them for 3 months to give her body time to adjust. Took some talking from me, but I finally convinced her that was NOT an option..having a 17 yr old daughter is bad enough without having these hormone based depressed fits..Finally put her on Trivora..and she is HAPPY...and pain free...regulated her system and all is well..

That's funny, Yasmin is supposed to contain an anti-depressant. It was the best bc I was on. Just tell her NOT to get the Depo-Provera shot.

I agree with Obxdrmn. One needs to check with your health care provider about what is best for you.
I take Ovcon-35. That is what my health care provider suggested for me due to my age and past medical history.
So far I have not had any type of side effects. ***THANK GOODNESS!!!***

There are some really bratty assed kids that live down the street from me... they're a perfect form of birth control. I didn't have sex for at least 3 months after meeting them... and I've had a hysterectomy!!!

As a man, I can tell you that a very effective form of Birth Control is a well timed laugh....when he takes his pants off...point and laugh...nobody will get pregnant after that!

I use the Mirena IUD. It stays in for 5 years. I had it put in in October and I now have 2 day periods, it is great. Mitchell has had a vasectomy and I didn't need it for birth control purposes but I needed to be "regulated"

I think Karl Rove accidentally deleting his emails seems suspicious.
